Who am I?
My name is Ugochi. A translation of my name from Igbo into English is “Honour of God”. I aim to honour myself and God as much as possible in this endeavour. So… a little bit about me:
I am a British born Nigerian blogger – I was born and raised in London. I am proud of my Nigerian origins, but also love to travel, and explore or immerse myself in different cultures.
I now work in Advisory at one of the Big 4 accounting firms and have completed my exams for my ACA (chartered accountancy). Outside of work I love to read, I try and stay active and spend as much quality time as I can with family and friends.
I studied PPE at the University of Warwick, which was perfect for me. I love to engage in and discuss interesting issues and topics. If you also love having deep and meaningful conversations or want to share in my life experiences, you will feel right at home on my blog.
In summary, I am a qualified accountant by trade, a blogger on the side, and a philosopher at heart.
What is my story?
l first started blogging after being inspired by a post-graduation backpacking trip around South East Asia in 2017. I documented all my travel experiences, including a record of all my “deep” conversations, in a journal. I converted my journal entries into blog posts to help share my experiences with friends and family, and I became a blogger! If you’re interested in reading about this trip, I recommend starting with my post on Laos.
Since then, I haven’t been able to travel as much as I’d like to due to work and exams, which can be demanding at times. However, I enjoy writing as a creative outlet and have other topics to write about, which are important to me.
Why am I doing this?
Like the majority of other young professionals and entrepreneurs, I’m figuring out more about life as I go along, and would like to invite you on this journey with me.
This blog is my space to share my experiences, life lessons and uninterrupted thoughts. I hope that my posts inspire and encourage others, or spark interesting conversations.
My name is Ugochi and I have something to say. This blog is me and my thoughts… uninterrupted.
